Yellowstone & Grand Teton In Spring

This series of images was captured during a trip to the US in June and July 2015.

The trip included the great national parks of Yellowstone and Grand Teton, and was timed for the emergence of spring. Not only did explore the fabulous thermal features we also photographed the carpets of spring flowers, as well as elk in their velvet. We visited many great locations including the Moulton Barn, Fountain Paintpots, Old Faithful, Upper Geyser Basin, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Grand Prismatic Spring, Black Sand Basin, Mammoth Hot Springs. Everyone who has travelled to Yellowstone will be familiar with these locations. They might even manage to include a visit to the West Yellowstone Rodeo. However, few photographers will be aware that the greater Yellowstone ecosystem has far more to offer. Three days of our tour were spent high up in the Beartooth Mountains. Here we were able to photograph a variety of birds at the nest including woodpeckers, flickers and owls. The following series of images are just a small sample of the many I managed to capture.
